Review captions for reading and timing
Accurate words need usable presentation.
Prepare
Compare the captions with the actual audio, especially names, negation, and figures. A single missing “not” can reverse a statement. Correct the text before spending time on font and color.
Work through the decision
Keep caption blocks short enough to read during their on-screen interval. Break at a phrase boundary rather than between a number and its unit. Check that captions do not cover a chart label, face, or important object.
Review the result
Watch the beginning and ending of each block at normal speed. Captions should arrive with the relevant speech and clear before the next thought becomes confusing. Recheck them after any narration change.
